For public transportation options you can take the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Route 151 or 156 to the Lincoln Park Zoo and walk to the beach from there. For further information from the CTA please call (312) 836-7000 or see www.transitchicago.com.

Transportation options: If you must drive (we highly recommend public transportation):

Option 1) The Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive. Cost for 0-3 hours is $17, over 3 hours is $19 and the lot opens at 9am and closes at 11pm. Park as far south as possible and take the pedestrian bridge over Lake Shore Drive to the beach site adjacent to Castaways Grill at North Avenue Beach. The walk from the south end of the parking lot is approximately 1/4 of a mile.

Option 2) The Chicago History Museum parking lot located at 1730 N. Stockton at LaSalle Drive. Cost for 0-3 hrs. is $14, 3-4 hours is $18, and over 4 hours is $26. The lot is open 24 hours. The walk from this lot to North Ave. Beach is approximately 1/3 of a mile, however, due to the construction on LaSalle Drive you will need to navigate east through the park to enter North Ave. Beach over the pedestrian overpass over Lake Shore Drive.
